Happy Memorial Day everyone! Before we get to this month’s Creative Contest winner, we first want to thank all of the men and women who have served or are currently serving our country. Your service does not go unrecognized! We hope all of our readers are celebrating this holiday with your friends and loved ones. We were lucky to all be together this weekend at our parent’s house to celebrate all of the May birthdays in our family: Matteo turned 1; Meika and Harper turned 2; and Hunter turned 15! It was a fun family party!
Anyway, it’s been a very rainy month here on the East Coast but that didn’t stop several people from planting fantastic gardens and submitting their Plantspiration Contest entries. Thank you to everyone who sent in a photo of your best container garden for your chance to win a $25 gift card to Terrain. Again, we are just blown away by our reader’s creativity!
Before we get to the winner, we want to highlight two honorable mentions. The first is Mike Storey in Canada. Mike transformed his roof deck into a lush garden oasis using only containers.
Click on the slide show below to see a series of photos showing the transformation. The progression is amazing and was completed in just over two months of growth. This just goes to show that you don’t need a yard to have a beautiful garden oasis!
Our second honorable mention is Amanda Domangue. Amanda and her husband showed amazing creativity with their transformation of an old trampoline into a circular garden. This is just such a unique idea and we love the re-purposing. Well done Amanda!
And the winner of the 2016 Plantspiration Competition is….
And finally the winner. First place and the $25 Terrain gift card goes to Michelle Knox from Ellery Designs. Michelle shared this photo of her beautiful and very unique “K” container garden. This unusual planter personalizes Michelle’s front entryway and will only become more beautiful as the summer goes on. For information on how to create your own DIY Cedar Monogram Planter Box, you can visit Michelle’s blog here.
Please help us congratulate Michelle on winning Button Jar’s May Plantspiration Competition. Thank you, again, to all of the participants!
